How to write your UCAS Personal Statement

Screen grab of udemy personal statement course

😊 Welcome

So, this week is another of those “one thing only” newsletters!

It’s something I’ve been working on for a while now, so without further ado…

📢 Brand new Personal Statement course on Udemy (free for a limited time!)

This week, I’ve launched a brand new course on Udemy, all about how to write your Personal Statement, complete with all the changes for 2026.

And it’s called, quite simply:

How to write your UCAS Personal Statement: Six steps to writing a compelling and powerful UCAS Personal Statement for your application to UK universities

It consists of eleven short videos, which take you through a six-step process for writing your statement. There is also a quick quiz on the Personal Statement basics, and there are a number of handouts to help students with the more practical tasks.

If you don’t know, Udemy is a massive online platform where you can go to get video based courses and training on just about everything. The quality varies massively, but you can always check out sample videos to see if the course looks any good before you buy.

And speaking of buying, yes, there will normally be a cost to this. I only have a certain amount of control over the pricing, but I am able to offer special limited deals.

So, for the launch, starting today, the course will be free for the next five days (for up to 1,000 people).

If you sign-up, you get lifetime access to the course, and so teachers and advisers in particular, might want to do this and use some (or all) of the videos in their UCAS classes.

The link for the course is: How to write your UCAS Personal Statement

And you’ll need the following coupon code: PS2026FREE

Please feel free to share this with your friends, students, or fellow advisers!

And once you’ve had the chance to take the course, I’d love it if you could give it a review to help others work out whether it might help them!

Thank you in advance for your support!

That’s all for this week!

Jonathan
