Just one thing… UCAS Personal Statements 2026
😊 Welcome
Once again, just one thing this week.
Once again, it's a big thing.
And I’d really love for you to have a look and share it with friends, students and advisers.
📖 A brand new guide to UCAS Personal Statements 2026
If you haven’t guessed already by the giant image at the top of this email, I’ve now launched a brand new guide “How to write your UCAS Personal Statement, 2026 edition”.
1,000s of you have downloaded and shared the previous versions, but this one is particularly important because the Personal Statement is changing. Gone is the open, unstructured box, and in its place are three questions.
No one really knows exactly what universities will be looking for (though some have provided useful guidance), but using a bit of experience and expertise, we can have a pretty good guess!
In this guide I’ve given some background on the UCAS process, where the Personal Statement fits in, and how it might be used.
I then have a step-by-step guide to brainstorming content, choosing the best content for each section, writing reflectively, writing and editing your first draft, and getting feedback and support.
You’ll find it at:
Please share this widely; to teachers, parents and of course students.
📢 Posters for teachers and advisers
Teachers and Advisers: if you would like to promote the guide to your students, please download the poster via the link below, and put it up in your schools!
The download also contains a poster for my new UniAdmissionsTests website.
That's all for this week. Thanks for reading!
Jonathan
